VEDU fully leverages its own advantages, and is always forward-looking in the combining of its vast number opportunities. The Canadian economic development strategy is to create a VUT in “education in animation and gaming and industrial development” as the core segment at 95 Moatfield and 105 Moatfield situated downtown Toronto. VEDU will create Canada’s sole “MTM MOOC & Blockchain Animation Gaming IP Trading Centre” with a high-tech platform that integrates education and production, integrates animation and gaming education, entrepreneurship and employment, IP transaction, and digital economy.
The continuing globalization of industry will serve to invigorate the development of Canada’s education sector as well as an innovative economy through the providing of international and local education in animation and gaming, and at the same time, this also brings huge social and economic benefits to VEDU.
Projects that are currently in operation at VUT
The VUT core competitive advantage is its high-level teaching quality and innovative spirit. In order to build the project up to a well recognized Canadian education brand, and to best serve society, VEDU integrates global educational resources, especially with famous universities in Canada. Several forms of cooperation serve to accelerate the implementation and development of the strategy internationalization of the visionary education brand.
The current projects operating at University Town are the following:
MTM Animation, formerly known as Max the Mutt Animation School, and Studio M) was founded in 1997 as a Private Career College under the Private Career Colleges Act, 2005 with the Ontario Ministry of Advanced Education and Skills Development (Registration number is:101408). MTM Animation is located in Toronto, Canada.
MTM Animation offers three 4-year college diploma programs, including Animation, Concept Art, and Illustration & Storytelling for Sequential Arts. The curriculum is largely designed, regularly reviewed and updated by working professionals. Most faculty are working professionals. Additionally, MTM Animation also regularly offers short-term workshops and training courses.
Over the last 25 years, MTM Animation has produced thousands of graduates who have become a major working force in the animation industry. Many of these graduates have joined top animation studios or created their own studios. The market demand has been rapidly expanding.
Max the Mutt offer a variety of exciting digital, animation, and art workshops and courses outside our diploma programs. We have courses that appeal to those from every background – from the complete beginner, to the occasional hobbyist, to the working professional. We pride ourselves on the quality of our offerings, and all of our courses are held to the same high standard as our diploma programs.
MTM Animation has established an agreement with Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design (referred to as Duncan College) for collaborative education. MTM Animation students can be admitted to Duncan College for 1-year master program after they have successfully complete the 4-year study in MTM Animation. This is known as “4+1 program”. MTM Animation is also developing “2+2 program” with a few Canadian public universities in disciplines related to animation and art education. Under a 2+2 program, MTM Animation students can directly transfer to a public university for the remaining 2 years of study for Bachelor’s degree after they have completed the first 2 years of study at MTM Animation.
Max the Mutt is a famous animation school in North America. “The Rookies” has ranked Max the Mutt 1st in North America and 3rd worldwide for Digital Illustration, for their 2017 School of the Year Official World Rankings. Gamedesigning.org list Max the Mutt as the Top Animation School in Canada in 2021. MTM Animation programs have already developed exceptional reputation both nationally and internationally. This largely enhances MTM’s opportunity to attract top talented students from the globe.
VEDU acquired the control of Conbridge, and we plan to expand their program offerings and partnerships. The rapid pace at which we have expanded and plan to continue expanding in the future may place substantial demands on our management, faculty, administrators, operational, technological and other resources.
Conbridge College is currently negotiating 1+2, 2+1 business administration credit transfer programs with the Centennial College in Toronto, which has the largest number of international students in Canada.
Dorset College was established in 1981, Dorset College has for many years provided exceptional post-secondary education to international students. The college’s motto, “Excellence in Education,” reflects the high quality of instruction offered to students. Dorset College places the needs of students first by providing a friendly environment that emphasizes academic success. Students come from around the globe to take advantage of Dorset College’s unique and diverse community.
We operate two colleges, Conbridge College of Business and Technology and Dorset College-Toronto Campus, that offer college diploma programs, short-term training courses, vocational training programs, and collaborative education in partnership with public colleges and universities (1+3 and 2+2 programs) for bachelor’s degrees. We also have an agreement to acquire MTM, which offers the same types of programs.
We plan to partner with one or more colleges in Canada in the form of PPP. In a PPP partnership contract, we will provide to a public college applied arts and technology college programs leading to an Ontario College Credential. We intend that VUT will be the location for of our PPP Program. The closing is expected to occur in March 2022. We plan to have the facility available for the initial PPP students in September 2022.
Dorset College has signed an agreement with the University of Saskatchewan for credit transfer, including entry into degree programs. The University of Saskatchewan has secured, and continues to pursue, transfer articulation agreements with domestic and international post-secondary institutions, allowing for more options and flexibility for transfer students.
Dorset College and the University of Saskatchewan’s Edwards School of Business have expanded their partnership agreement to include the Edwards Master of Business Administration (MBA) program. The Edwards MBA is a transformational experience that focuses on team building, leadership and business strategy. It can be completed in as short as 12 months if taken full time, or part time in up to 36 months.
Starting in fall 2019, students who successfully complete the Dorset PGSA can apply for the Edwards MBA program and further their studies while enhancing their knowledge of both the Canadian and Saskatchewan business environment and economy. Applicants will also be eligible for the Edwards MBA Internship Program (EMIP), which is an 8-month work experience designed for students with little or no Canadian work experience in their desired field.
Niagara University in Ontario Partnership. Niagara University is a private university in Lewiston, New York, United States, that was founded in 1856. Niagara University has been educating students in the Catholic and Vincentian tradition, which emphasizes ethics, lifelong learning, and service to others and prepares their graduates for lives and careers that are both successful and fulfilling. Niagara University is a binational university operating in both New York and Ontario . VEND has been collaborating with Niagara University Ontario, or NUO, as the exclusive student recruiting agent in Canada, China, India and certain other southeast Asian countries for four master’s programs in education offered by NUO. Niagara University’s master programs offered in Ontario. Farvision has also developed four to six pre-master programs, which prepare students for admission to Niagara University’s master programs.

- University cooperation
In order to promote the rapid development of University Town and provide more international students with high-quality education products to meet the needs of the Canadian education market, VEDU is actively cooperating with Dalhousie University, Queens University, Ryerson University, Brock University, Lakehead University, Cape Breton University, and the University of London in the United Kingdom.
VEDU has carried out multi-faceted and multi-level cooperation negotiations, introducing specialisation and curricula into the VUT, opening regional campuses, 2+2 joint programs, co-operative programs, and mutual recognition of credits. The cooperation of universities or pre-master’s courses and master’s doctoral teaching centre willrealise the strategic goals of VEDU’s higher education in the near future.
- International Science and Technology Cooperation Center
The Visionary International Science and Technology Center (VIST) is established to create a place of inspiring and supporting innovation, technology transfer, and entrepreneurship. It provides top scientists and engineers from both Canada and the globe with the state-of-the-art physical facilities, financial resources, and industrial connections in advancing their research and technology transfer. The ultimate goal of this center is to bridge research and application for the advancement of humanity. In long-term, VIST will be open to support a very broad range of disciplines, however, during the first phase of development, the following will be the focused areas:
- Artificial Intelligence and applications in industry, transportation, and education.
- Block chain technology and applications in education and entertainment.
- Advanced materials and applications in construction and transportation.
- Sustainable construction methods and technologies.
- Advance technologies and solutions for intelligent buildings and cities.
VIST provides for major services to researchers and technology developers, including Science and Technology Support (STS), Financial and Resources Support (FSS), Technology Transfer Services (TTS), and Spin-off and Entrepreneurship Services (SES). VIST and the researchers work in partnership to advance research and to explore commercial applications. The diagram illustrates how this partnership works.
When a researcher / research team has successfully advanced a research project to the final stage and generated research outcomes of high potential for a commercially viable technology transfer, they can choose to partner with VIST for technology transfer through submitting a proposal to VIST. VIST will evaluate the proposal to determine if a partnership is feasible and beneficial. Once a proposal is accepted by VIST, a partnership agreement will be developed and agreed upon between the two parties, which outlines the existing IP being brought in by the researcher/team, the resources to be provided by VIST in order to advance the research to final application, the mode for risk and benefit sharing, project plan including the schedule and contingency plan, and commercial exploitation plan. After an application is successfully converted into a partnership agreement, the project will be executed according to the schedule and all milestones will be evaluated to ensure the ultimate goal of the project can be eventually achieved. Once the project is successfully concluded, commercial exploitation plan will be developed for the new IP and patentable technology advancement generated during the project.
- Visionary Center for Innovative Education Solutions (VIES)
The quality of an education program does not only depend on the content, teaching methods, and the ability of educators, but also largely on the teaching facilities which can be used to demonstrate complicated and challenging knowledge. Visionary Center for Innovation Education Solutions (VIES) is established to develop innovative education solutions for a variety of education programs, including OSSD, college/university programs. Although initially aimed to develop teaching facilities based on advance technologies for the education programs offered by Visionary Group, the ultimate goal of VIES is to provide the best education solutions to the global customers. The academic rigor that VIES aims to help schools to achieve is that students can feel both the joy of success and the pressure of challenges while working on the related contents. VIES engages renowned educators and technology providers in the development of education solutions. Based on a thorough understanding of the pedagogical methods and goal of an educational program, a comprehensive set of challenging learning problems are identified and each of these problems is investigated to create a clearly defined learning module with specific learning objectives, methods, and learning facilities that can demonstrate difficult and challenging concepts and processes. By specifically defining the teaching and learning standard, and providing supporting and instructional methods including the necessary teaching facilities, students can complete the learning process with the best productivity, generating results and opportunities to demonstrate their successes.
- VIES currently offers the following services:
- Education solutions for OSSD level of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) courses.
- Demonstration facilities for OSSD level of STEM courses.
VIES is developing the following services:
- VR (Virtual Reality) based virtual teaching lab for OSSD level of STEM courses.
- AI (Artificial Intelligence) based customized OSSD teaching assisting platform, which can analyse the learning process of individual students and generate a tree-pattern to illustrate the fundamental reasons for the student to make mistakes in learning process. This is then used to produce customized learning tutorials to help the student concentrate on his/her problems. This platform can greatly improve students learning productivity and reduce the cost of operating a high quality OSSD program.
- MOOC (Massive Open Online Courses) for animation education: based on the academic programs on animation education offered by one of our colleges, MTM college of Animation, Art and Design, we are building an Animation Education MOOC which will be open to both Canadian and international students. This MOOC is also enhanced by Block-chain and AI technologies to create an extra feature: the arts generated by our students and instructors are converted to NFT (Non-Fundable Token) and can be traded as a digital asset online.
- VR and AI based virtual teaching lab for Vocational Education program: this virtual lab provides virtual demonstration for the following VE courses: electrician, mechanic, refrigeration, HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air-Conditioning). Each demonstration unit can be offered in one of two forms: simulation (see Diagram A: A house simulated in Simulink) and emulation (combination of simulation and physical components, see Diagram B: some equipment used to develop interface units to link the simulation with physical components in an emulator).
